The Bijou neighborhood is divided into two distinct areas. Bijou 1 and Bijou 2 are located centrally in South Lake Tahoe and near the Stateline neighborhood which is west of Ski Run Blvd between Pioneer Trail and the Al Tahoe neighborhood area. Bijou 1 accounts for the larger of the two neighborhoods while Bijou 2 is found within a smaller nook near the west side of Highway 50. Both Bijou neighborhoods are close to the lake, the popular public Bijou Golf Course, a few short minutes away from the California Base of Heavenly Ski Resort, the casino area shopping and the Heavenly Gondola. From the Bijou area, you can easily walk to the El Dorado Beach area & the South Lake Tahoe Recreation complex which offers a junior Olympic size pool, gym, community classes and the local indoor ice skating rink. One of its best features is Bijou Park with it’s disc golf course, skate park, playground, basketball courts, bike park, x-country skiing, snow shoeing and a summer obstacle course that is great for the fitness enthusiast. Bijou’s homes are the Classic Tahoe Chalet or Tahoe Cabin with a few custom homes mixed in, yards are generally manicured and most lots have beautiful mountain views.
